I've had this Centurylink branded c1100z wifi router for a month and I've had problems throughout. The wifi radio has always been flaky, dropping signal and fluctuating signal. At first I thought it was interference for adjoining homes on same or nearby channel. I've tried every channel and it still drops out now to the point where it just puts out a consistently weak signal that is weaker than my neighbors signal. I tried rebooting, resetting, changing the power output, tried every channel. I believe the wifi radio is fried. I've never heard of this happening before. I swapped it out for an old Netgear wnr2000v3 I had lying around and it works perfectly. How can a brand new wifi router be so crappy? Now I have to deal with Centurylink trying to get this piece of crap replaced. Any ideas why my wifi radio died? Could having it placed close to my microwave oven fried it?
