Hi,
I have 10mbs fiber from Embarq, now Centurylink, in SW Florida that worked with router using PPPoE until a month ago. Since then it will only connect if I use PPPoE connection directly from the PC, but will not connect using PPPoE from router. I myself tried 3 different routers, and CL tech also made me purchase official ZyXel router. Hours on the phone with CL, and tech visit to no avail.
My connection is PPPoE, not DHCP, but I tried both anyway.
The login that always worked and still works from the PC is username: [mod edit -- removed for privacy reasons -- fatness] with generic password [mod edit -- removed for privacy reasons -- fatness]
I tried other usernames as the important part is @earthlink.net.
Directly from the PC it connects in 2 seconds and I get WAN IP address. If I load the router web page it shows 10mbs connection but no Internet ie IP address is 0.0.0.0. Status shows auth failed.
Anyone knows how to fix this? Anyone knows how to escalate to networking department?
