I was made aware that new in between speeds are now available. In my situation, I used to have 40/5 and when bonded became available in late 2014, I jumped to 40/20. That was the highest speed that I could get due to distance from the DSLAM. There are now in between speeds that allow me to have higher choices such as 60/5, and 80/10. I of course had to get the 80/10. Some speed tests are shown. I do know someone else near me who is close to a DSLAM and they used to be only able to get 40/20 max (unbonded) and now can get 60/5 (unbonded). Another friend called up and was offered more choices because he's further away from the DSLAM. He would have to get bonded to get them, but at least he can get faster than 20/896. The speed choices he has is 40/2, 20/2, 12/2, 7/2. As you can see, there are more choices that have recently been made available. I was actually surprised and happy that if you have good line quality but don't qualify for the next tier, you might be able to get a higher in between speed that was previously unavailable to you.
I ordered my speed upgrade on Friday and just got it today.
