In applying for an over 55 unit (my wife has developed serious mobility problems and needs a handicapped unit, promptly) we were required to get a letter of credit from century link. They refuse to provide one, saying that we have had service with them for less than six months. We had service with them at the previous apartment for five years. Before that we've had phone service at the house since the mid 1940's with no late payments. None. But we don't qualify for a letter of credit. When I asked that this be escalated, that person said they would send one, but did not.
We have to provide the correct information to get this unit. Luckily they are willing to make an exception and allow us to scan in all our past bills. And thankfully we are computer savvy enough to do so, many seniors are not. Those seniors could end up on the street.
Thanks for being the Grinch this holiday season, century link.
