When I moved into my new house in Brooklyn Park, MN, I was getting 4-5 Mbps. (That was great, because my previous location in Brooklyn Center was getting 5-7.) But somewhere about a year in, the speed mysteriously slowed down to 2-3 Mbps.
Officially, technically my address has only been eligible for 3 Mbps the whole time. But I know what I saw -- for the first year I was getting 4-5 Mbps and now I'm only getting 2-3.
The entire time I've had the same phone line, same computer, same OS, same modem, plugged into the same phone jack, with everything sitting in the same location. What could have caused this mysterious slow-down?
