I've had PRISM / DSL (10mbit) for a while now, but it seems that in the last month, I'm having lots of problems, specifically when using video conferencing. I'm working from home, and use a Polycom HDX 4000 over a Cisco 800 series VPN router.
Everything was going well for a year, but the last month I can hardly get connections stable or get pictures at all. When I open a connection, I can't even get speedtest to complete, and my pings go from 25ms to over 400ms. Without video conferencing, I see about 10mbit on speedtest.
Why would video conferencing after a year of usage suddenly be such a problem ? I had technicians at my house for various reason (switch gateway, switch DVR several times, fix wiring etc), and I really hope I can get better qualified support here, from the friendly Centurylink folks frequenting this forum.
Due to having PRISM, I guess 10 mbit is the best I can get from Centurylink (if it is a bandwidth issue). Are there any other options, or do I have to just go back to cable ?
