I recently upgraded to PK5001Z and have a problem.
I am at least 2 mi down Cu wire from DSLAM. Once a day my line becomes 'unstable'. When this happens my pk5001z drops speed down to 1mb from normal 8mb. (connect = 9.3434Mb to 1.x Mb).
My question is there a way to get the modem to retrain BACK UP ??? I have to reboot at least once a day. Service trouble shooter shows the line as 'unstable'. If I report it all is working ok when tech comes out.
My question is whether there is an option to force the modem to retrain back up -OR- a better modem I can buy that accomplishes same ??
Thanks, Howard (Blounts Creek, NC)
