I've been fighting slow connections off and on for a while now. It seems like even when my download and upload speeds are normal according to a speed test, I still get very flaky connections and find it difficult to use Skype or Netflix.
I tried pinging a few public sites like www.google.com and when things are going well the response time is around 60ms which is very good. However when things are bad the ping time is 600ms - 1000ms, obviously very poor.
I've tried the usual like rebooting the modem etc, and when I've called CL they have reset a port on their side and that seems to help for a short time.
Any thoughts on how to clear up this sporadic high latency?
