I live in a rural area and have CenturyLink's slower DSL service (ADSL2 1.5 mbps...not great but better than nothing). On the recommendation of their customer service I bought an Actiontec GT784WN, which has worked "ok" except that it doesn't have IP reservation capability like my previous Netgear router had, which I need for some of the devices on my network.
Any recommendations for a modem or modem/router combo that has address reservation and that works well with CenturyLink's service?
I also remember reading on a post on this forum about people using their modem in "bridge" mode with a separate router...maybe I could do that here with my previous Netgear router unless there's good reason to just forget about the Actiontec and go with another brand (ZyXel seems to have a good reputation here).
Thanks for your help-
