VLAN Tagging on Tomato for FTTH

Good day, After messing with the setting for a few days as well as on the phone with Centurylink tech support for more than two hours, I thought I would post here to get some advise... I am in Washington state using the Centurylink FTTH, aka, GPON service. I want to replace the Zyxel FR1000Z with my own router. After researching a bit, I found out that I need to setup VLAN tagging on ID 201 for WAN port. So I flashed a new Tomato with the shibby mod and proceed to configure per the attachment, and added the PPPoE user/pass, but couldn't get a connection. I then called Tech Support and luckily reached a person that knew the system well, and said VLAN tagging is definitely the right solution, and said he'll connect me with the programming department and remove the VLAN restriction so it's no longer just ID 201 but set to ANY. So I tried it again with and without VLAN tagging, but still no luck. I have since flashed a few other firmware and played with more setting but still couldn't get a connection. Any advise on what else I can try? Thank you.
