I've got CenturyLink's 40Mbps DSL service. CenturyLink provided us with the Actiontec C1000A modem and it's running the latest firmware.
Last night, while using my computer, I watched as the modem disconnected and reconnected from the Internet two or three times. In looking at my DSL stats, I see that it retrained 34 times in the past 24 hours. That's got to be a sign that there's a problem, right?
Currently, it shows that I'm connected at 30142/5120. Service type is "PTM-Tagged".
My downstream DSL power numbers show: SNR=14 dB; Atten = 0 dB; Power = 17 dBm
My upstream DSL power numbers show: SNR = 18 dB; Atten = 0 dB; Power = 8.5 dBm
I'd appreciate it if anyone more knowledgeable can tell me if the numbers look OK or not.
FWIW, I do not have a NID outside my house. It's an older home and one has never been installed. I may be mistaken, but I think CenturyLink said I would have to pay to have a NID installed. But, I may be imagining that.
Thanks in advance!
BTW, I've been a long-time member of the site but not as busy on the forums as I used to be nearly a decade ago. :)
